Burning Boat Festival

Join us early on New Year’s Eve to celebrate with a community bonfire. Write down a wish or an intention for the new year, put it in the boat specially built by Maritime High School students for this occasion, and watch as we set the boat ablaze in the Scandinavian New Year tradition.
The Rotary Club of Des Moines & Normandy Park is teaming up with the City of Des Moines to host this event. Proceeds will fund youth scholarships for City Parks & Rec programs.
